You see, most scams will ask for a nominal registration fee or some investment. In exchange for information or provide you with a service to perform “Data Entry Jobs from Home”. Unknowingly, they might be charging you a monthly subscription fee thereafter, written in a small print when you are punching in your credit card numbers.

In the worst scenario, this information or services may be available for free elsewhere!

Let’s explore some common “Data Entry Jobs from Home” scams here.

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – MLM

Multi-level-marketingHow MLM Works comes in 2 forms, Online, and Offline. Obviously, the Online MLM are the ones that most likely to lure you into their system as a form of “Data Entry Job”.

As an Online MLM Marketeer, you are required to market the products using social media platform, creating your own website or perhaps submitting articles to popular forum discreetly. Yup, using your computer and type something, “Data Entry Jobs from Home”.

Most Online MLM companies are scams and there will not be around for a long time if people are not getting into the program anymore. They will just shut down and move on to create the next superficial product and the scam cycle starts afresh.

MLM Online companies like to use a low startup cost package to attract members, after which there are tons of high ticket upsell that could burn your finances if you are not careful of what you are getting into.

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – Professional Transcription

Professional transcription could come in the forms of medical coding or statistic coding. Some Online scam companies would require you to take some form of tests or certification training before you are given the “Data Entry Jobs from Home” job

The passing rate of the tests or training is miserably low. What comes next after you failed your tests?

Yes, they are going to offer you some more training if you really wanted the “Data Entry Jobs from Home”, but you’ve to pay an amount of school fees.

Get it now? Don’t fall for this kind of tricks.

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – Make Money Online

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee or Investment - Make Money Online

This is the most common scam of all scams. You are lured into signing up their product or system using the “Data Entry Jobs from Home” bait.

Scam auto-trading-bot companies would tell you that all you need is to key in some numbers into their system every day to see your binary options or stock make money for you.

The scam companies could include Gambling sites where they promise you Free credits to play with every new registration.

Your “Data Entry Jobs from Home” could become “Gambling from Home”.

Very convenient switch, isn’t it?

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – Surveys

Online Surveys are quite popular bait-and-switch for “Data Entry Jobs from Home” scams too. Most of the time, if the survey companies asked for a fee to join its panel, beware and it just could be another scam.

I have been a member of several companies such as YouGov and MySurvey. Both companies did not ever ask for a single cent when I registered as a panel member. I have been doing surveys sparingly and received 2 payments from MySurvey so far.

Do your due diligence to perform research from Online reviews to ensure the credibility of the survey companies, if they asked for a fee to join.

My personal advice is to avoid if possible.

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – Affiliate Marketing

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee or Investment - affiliate marketing

This is another popular bait-and-switch for “Data Entry Jobs from Home” that is closely related to the “Make Money Online” niche. This is a huge part of the “Make Money Online” niche, so I classify it under Affiliate Marketing itself

A lot of Online Companies offer some form of affiliate marketing for their products. If you are new to Affiliate Marketing, you can read here.

The most prominent company is Amazon for all kinds of products they sell there. Another is ClickBank which offers e-book products.

As an affiliate marketer, you have to create your own website contents to promote the products. You have to apply search engine optimization techniques to attract traffic to your sites. When there are visitors, you have the potential to convert them to your customers. You’ll need the 4 steps here.

BUT, this is not an overnight “Get Rich Quick” event. It is a long process of hard work and commitment before you can see your first result. It requires further hard work and persistence before you could see your Success!

Do note that you are not required to pay the company any amount of money to be their affiliate. You are in a sense “working” for them, but get paid on commission basis. If you are asked to pay them before you can recommend their products, run.

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – Affiliate Marketing Schools

There are many people, product and school out there who claims that they can teach you a step-by-step process of affiliate marketing. Who to believe and trust?

Watch out for “Get rich quick” promise. Loud pictures of big cars, luxury homes and loads of cash are some of the scam alerts flashing directly at you. Save your money, do not fall into their scams.

On the other hand, if there are schools that provide “no questions asked” money back guarantee with little fees or a free trial, do your due diligence to search for reviews as your second firewall to scam.

There are many vultures circling in the Online World looking for its next prey. Do not be their source of food, filling their tummy with your hard earn cash.

Data Entry Jobs from Home Without Registration Fee – Common “Cents”

One could get scammed easily if one is naive and gullible. Do not trust everything you read and see Online.

“Data Entry Jobs from Home” is a low skilled work and do not expect a huge paycheck for this kind of work.

It is not worth the time and money if you fall into any scams. It is advisable to exercise your common “cents” and diligently research on a product before you commit your time and money on it.

I got to be honest here – data entry seems to very much set off the scam alert bells with me!!

But the more I read your article I realize you are not really promoting these sorts of things at all!!!

Out of what you’ve listed I’d have to say that affiliate marketing breeds the most interest as it is the most challenging – great article 🙂

    Hi Edmund,

A great subject that you touch on here. We know for a fact that many people indeed look for jobs in this area. Most of the time these jobs don’t even pay well, revealing that the people who look for these jobs really need the extra income.

Your review is lucid and well in depth. Did you investigate sites similar to Upwork as well? Although these deal with freelance jobs and are legit companies, I still encountered scams by the people who offer jobs on these sites.

    Best, Marcel

    1. Edmund Post author

Hi Marcel, thanks for visiting and a good question you have there.

There is a similar site to Upwork, which is Elance. I did take a look at some job offers there. I guess the safest way to engage a company is to look at ratings and reviews of the company.

Scam companies would not survive at such sites due to ratings and reviews given by real people who have engaged them before. Hope this helps.

      Wishing you the best too!

    Hello, Edmund!

You have done excellent work in this article, giving a very clear evaluation of the reality out there. I definitely agree with you when you say that these jobs are not worth the effort and an eventual chance to get scammed.

I did try survey jobs before myself and I did make some money on it, but that was not solid, not worth the effort.

Great that you are sharing this valuable info!

    1. Edmund Post author

      Hello, Igor!

Thanks for your comment. I guess we have been in the same situation before. Not really worth it considering the time invested and the returns ratio of doing surveys.

I am currently working on Affiliate Marketing with Wealthy Affiliate University. It is definitely much better then doing surveys. Check out my personal review of Wealthy Affiliate University, head over to try out the Free* online Entrepreneur Course and see if it suits you.

      Wishing you Success!

Great points Edmund! You see it a lot when searching online whether it’s Multi-Level-Marketing, Affiliate Marketing etc. any company that promised to make you big money fast is usually a scam and a good sign that you should run for the hills!

It bothers me when a company wants all of your personal details initially before even getting started in their program and more often than not if they have the following, more often than not they’re usually out for your money and nothing more:

    1. Flashy cars, boats etc on their landing page.

    2. The promise of quick cash with little effort – when has such a thing existed!

    3. Having to pay them just to use their affiliate products – a joke in my opinion!

    4. In their sales presentation, they talk about achieving great wealth if you sign up but are extremely vague on what their product does and how it helps you!

Great post and I’m glad I read it Edmund!

    Cheers, Stephen

    1. Edmund Post author

Hi, Stephen! Great to meet you here!

Thanks for your points listed in your comment that further enforce my points in this article!

I am concerned too when a company wants all our personal details initially before even getting started in their program.

Most of the time, a survey company would want to do that to profile a person’s details to keep in their database for survey profile matching. Do not reveal any information you deemed private. Check the reputation of the survey company before signing up would help too.

Online hacking is happening every day just that no one notices it. It is a security threat that is very real in the Online World. We have to be careful in this aspect too.

I am glad that you liked my post. 🙂

      Wishing you the best!

    Hey there,

Thanks for sharing this content with us I have found some great tips I can take away with me.

I have often wondered about doing surveys online but fail to see how you can make substantial income from it. I agree with you affiliate marketing is the way forward for internet marketers.

Thanks again I will share this post with a couple of my friends as they would also be interested as well.

    1. Edmund Post author

Hey Jack, thanks for your comment!

You are right about not able to make substantial income from doing surveys online. Taking survey is an easy job and one shall not expect to be paid highly.

Affiliate Marketing, on the other hand, takes effort and hard work. The reward is not immediate, but high when successful!

I am glad that this article has created values for you, hopefully for your friends too.

      Wishing you the best!

Hi Edmund, Nice post you have here.

I have heard many times about a people claimed, they got a lot of money and run automatically by cash machine system. Do you think is it true?

Actually, I have heard wealthy affiliate, but they are offering online scheme course and it is expensive. what do you think about wealthy affiliate? Are they scam online course? Thanks

    1. Edmund Post author

Hi Christian, thanks for your comment and questions.

I have not come across any product on cash machine system, my advice to your first question is that you have to be very careful of such claims. Research on the cash machine system thoroughly and look for reviews. If you are required to invest a large amount of money upfront, I will not join if I were you.

Wealthy Affiliate is an open education project where all Online Entrepreneurs around the world come together and contribute their knowledge to the community. Personally. I do not think Wealthy Affiliate is expensive if you break down the details. You can read my article “Is Wealthy Affiliate Worth it “.

      Hope these answered your questions.

      Wishing you the best!

Very good article on how to avoid the numerous “Data entry” scams out there. Why pay to apply for a job? I agree with you that affiliate marketing is a real true way of making money online while talking of one’s passion and interests. But it takes times to see some results, it’s not a “get rich quick” program!

    1. Edmund Post author

Hi David, thanks for your comment.

Yes, Affiliate Marketing offer vast opportunities in different kinds of niches. No matter what is your passion or interest in life, you can find affiliate marketing program/product related to it.

You are right! Affiliate Marketing is not a “get rich quick” business. It takes time and effort. I would recommend the best place to learn about Affiliate Marketing is at Wealthy Affiliate .

Wealthy Affiliate provides the fundamental training that educates people how to be successful with Affiliate Marketing. It is important to have the right mindset and Wealthy Affiliate guides you on that too.

      Wishing you the best!

  10. Owain

I was interested in this some time ago but didn’t find anything to suit me. I think anything that charges you a fee like this, (like affiliate marketing) then there’s something wrong.

Are there any that are actually real and do give a decent payout? I have found the surveys to be easy to do if you qualify. But the payout was extremely low, not worth it at all.

    1. Edmund Post author

      Hi, Owain.

Yes indeed. Most Affiliate Programs are free to join. Even all the survey companies that I have come across so far are free to join too.

You are right that the payout from Survey Companies is extremely low. Survey Companies do not pay out a lot to you because doing Survey is not a difficult job as you mentioned.

Affiliate Marketing would be a recommended choice if you are looking for a more decent income.

      Wishing you the best!
