In this post, I am going to share with you what is Affiliate Marketing all about. And how you could start learning how to make money Online with Affiliate Marketing.
At the same time, I will share with you how one needs a right mindset to be a Successful Online Entrepreneur.

What is Affiliate Marketing all about?
Wikipedia defines Affiliate Marketing as
“Affiliate Marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts.”
Sounds confusing? Yeah, I think so too.
In simplicity, according to Commission Factory, this is how Affiliate Marketing Works:

Affiliate Marketing involves 4 parties:
1. The Merchant – Offers affiliate program for Affiliate Marketer to advertise the merchant’s product. Merchant gives commissions for each referral sale.
2. The Affiliate Marketer– Sign up the affiliate program offered by the merchant. Promote Merchant’s product and get paid commission with each successful referred sales.
3. The Customer – Found Affiliate Marketer’s promotion through Website, Social Media or Advertisement Campaign. Buys through Affiliate Marketer’s affiliate links.
4. The Affiliate Network – Offers Merchant and Affiliate Marketer one-stop sales and commission management. Provide Merchant and Affiliate Marketer with tools and sales reports. Commission Factory and Commission Junction are examples of Affiliate Network. However, not all Merchants will use Affiliate Network. E.g. Amazon has its own Affiliate Management Site.

I really had no idea about the mechanics of affiliate marketing. It looks like someone can do well if they have a great website, with great content. Then, once you get traffic, you will be able to sell by getting customers to click on links to the merchants website. And, in many cases, there is a “go between” like Commission Junction to interact between the marketer and the merchant. It seems like a win-win to me !!

You are absolutely spot-on! Do you realize what you just mentioned are the exact steps to be a Successful Wealthy Affiliate?
The mechanics of setting up a website, finding the merchant and placing your affiliate links are secondary and easy to accomplish. The focus is creating valuable contents to your customers to build relationship and trust.
Once you have relationship and trust, it is definitely a win-win-win situation for Merchant-You-Customers!

Being an Amazon or Ebay associate is extremely simple. All you need is to create an account with them and fill in your details. Such as bank information for commission transfer and US taxation information.
